Sea Inspired Nails

Autumn is probably my favorite season, I love jumpers, big scarfs and orange and red. But at the moment we're in an awkward in-between stage. Its September, summer is coming to an end, but we're also still getting a few sunny days, and Autumn, though round the corner, isn't quite here. I haven't been able to fully embrace Autumn yet, and I'm still morning the end of the holidays, so I'm going to cling on to them for a little while longer with some sea inspired nail art.

I did use a stamping palate to create the white waves, but this is also a pattern that wouldn't be too hard to replicate without one. Something like this white Barry M nail art pen would make it pretty easy. You can see a design I produced with the black version of the pen here, if you'd like to get a better idea of how the pens look and work.

I used:
-Barry M Aquarium Collection in Pacific
-Gals Stamping Palate (GA3) Princess Set (Fourth on the second row in image)

The Barry M Aquarium range has to be one of my all time favorites. The colours are all so pretty, with a high gloss and mixed shade effect. The only thing against them is that they don't stamp very well - they definitely need two coats. They still make the perfect base coat for any stamping patterns though, and they look pretty great all on their own too. :)

If you're interested, I've blogged about a few other nail art designs, which you can find here.

All nail varnish images were sourced from the Barry M website

  1. I love the base color, it reminds me of the way light plays off the ocean. And white works so well on top!

  2. That looks lush. What a beautiful colour. I suck at doing nails and always smear them so am very envious!

    1. Thank you! I think it's probably my favorite shade :)

I'm good at smearing them too, I get very impatient waiting for then to dry! If I set myself up with a film to watch that keeps me in one place and helps a bit though :)
